Little Country Cutie – Ann Arbor Child Photographer

Today, I am reflecting on my last session before my move to Indiana.  This session was extremely bitter sweet for me.  I drove away feeling fulfilled by the session, yet uncertain of my future business in Michigan.  The May sun was high in the sky as I drove back home, down a scenic route.  There were hints of yellow blooms in fields and I thought, “Will I get to play with my little clients in fields of golden rods this year?”  I still do not know the answer to that question and it makes me a little sad.  Love Michigan golden rods in the late Summer.  It is a sign of lovely Autumn hues, crisp air and blue skies.

Many of the shots in this session reminded me of those days to come.  Love how these images embrace some of what is to come for me too.  Now that I live in Indiana, I will be enjoying many sessions with a country feel.

New Digs Y’all – Evansville, Indiana Portrait Photographer

Welcome to Southern Indiana, y’all.  It is a whole new HOT world for our little family.

I always said that I would move from Michigan, where it is warm.  I never had the courage to make the leap.  Sometimes you have to be forced to do something to actually make a change.  The thought of moving at my age, with young children, scared me.  I tried to think how I would feel if I had to move at their age.  It would have been difficult.  All they know is the safe little bubble that they have been living in for 9 to 10 years.

Even as an adult, I had a hard time envisioning a new home, school, town and friends.  I loved my life in Michigan.  The community I lived in was amazing to say the least.  There is so much support between families and friends.  How could we leave?  All I knew was that it would be an adventure and we can do ANYTHING if we are together as a family.  At the same time, it was very exciting to think of all the possibilities that were ahead of us.  Such mixed emotions.

My next hurdle is my business.  Leaving my clients has not been easy.  I am learning how to keep my current clientele in Michigan, while building my brand in Indiana.  Another scary, yet exciting adventure.  Now that I have things somewhat settled on this end, I am hopeful that I will be able to share more fun ideas here on my blog.  I need to unload all these ideas from my mind.  It is spinning with projects and I am about to explode.  I am also ready to explore this great area and share some hidden treasures.

One last note before I end this post.  I will be heading back to Michigan at the end of the month for about a week and cross over into early August.  I will be scheduling sessions to fill my time.  If you are interested in a session, please contact me right away.  I have very limited availability, because most of my days have been schedule.  Just shoot an email to me if you are interested.  Hope to see you soon!

High Resolution Images I Detroit Area Photographer

Happy hump day!

Just wanted to do a quick post on one of my most popular product, digital images.  This product is a great option for clients that cannot decide what size print they want and/or if they want to make multiple prints of one image.  It is also perfect for clients that love multiple images and want to make albums, announcements and holiday cards.  I love designing these products, but some clients like to add their own creative touch.

You may not be familiar with digital images from a photographer.  Don’t be afraid to inquire.  However, every photographer sells these differently.  It is important to ask your photographer if and how they sell their high resolution files.  For my clients, I offer  high resolution files on a DVD with a case for safe keeping.  They have shared rights of the images, which means that both the client and I have the right to print, create and share the images.  If you would like more information on my collections, please feel free to contact me regarding a session.  You can also email me at

Here are a few shots of a recent DVD.  I now personalize every DVD case for my clients.

Lately, I have had a ton of interest in digital files.  With that said, I am going to be offering a new session package (for up to 6 immediate family members), including 20 digital images of your choice for $1500.  This includes the creative session fee, which is a $650+ savings (depending on your creative fee).  This means you can get all those candid shots and images that help build your family’s story.  This is a wonderful options for families that want to share images with friends & family, create a wall display, and print cards & albums.  Think about all the Christmas gifts that you can give out, while capturing precious moments of your growing family.
